Our Skills, Talents, and Expertise

Our expertise lies within the scope of an advanced, local, and fast R&D.  Consider us your research team consisting of dozens of PhD design engineers who are called to action based on your project needs.

Even though we can develop hundreds of prototypes of up to ~5MW per year, we are not poised for large scale manufacturing.  But we can put you in contact, and work with large scale manufacturers if your project is going for mass production.

Furthermore, we are not strong in marketing as we do not sell consumer-level products. We would like you to know us for what we are best: an advanced power electronics, motor, drive, and controller design and manufacturing service.

How We Do What We Do:

Design-Engineer-Owned

Our lead design engineers are owners and shareholders of our firm.  We are a design-engineer-owned facility similar to employee-owned organizations and banks.  As a result, we do not have high costs associated with maintaining high payroll individuals.  Hence, we charge NRE to cover only for the engineers who actually do the work on a new design project.  Unlike many of our competitors who have high NRE costs due to high facility, senior engineer, staff, and fringe costs, we own our facility and equipment, we have minimal number of non-engineer staff, and our lead engineers own the firm.  Hence, we offer extremely competitive low costs.  Additionally, our lead engineers are among the top scientists of their field with publications in the leading journal, patents, and history of successful funding by federal agencies.  Due to their regular interactions with academic, national labs, and research institutions, our engineers offer the state-of-the-art solution for each design project.

About our CEO:

Dr. Pourya Shamsi

Dr. Pourya Shamsi has 20 years of experience in power electronics, circuit design, and digital control with more than 130 peer-reviewed journals and articles in leading publications such as IEEE transactions on power electronics, industrial electronics, IEEE Access, …
He has been selected among the top 2% of researchers in his field, globally, based on the impact of the citations of his articles.  He has been funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Department of Energy (DOE), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Department of Education (DoE), and Department of Defense (DoD) to perform state-of-the-art research on a variety of power converters, control algorithms, and training material.

Our Custom Design Process

We offer idea development, design, analysis, prototyping, up to low volume manufacturing.

Sketch

Idea development and technology selection based on client needs. Wide bandgap semiconductors, advanced topologies, system integration, terrestrial and aerial solutions, air and liquid cooled, sealed IP68 solutions, smart controllers, remote monitoring and management through IoT GSM, ...

Design

We offer electrical and mechanical design of hardware, software, and system integration. Based on the needs of our clients, we have expert design engineers utilizing Altium, Eagle, Ansys FEM, Matlab for electrical, and Ansys, IcePak (thermal), Solidworks, Fusion 360 for mechanical design and analysis. We can design up to SIL 3/ASIL-D and program in RTOS.

Prototype and Code

We have electrical and mechanical tools to develop various prototypes of up to 5MW and to IP68 rating. In addition, we have a local machining partner to develop larger mechanical structures. We comply with various standards including UL1741 for hardware and safety critical standards such as UL1998 for software.

Test and Tech Transfer

We have local testing capabilities of up to 500kW for converters and 300kW for drives. We can provide higher power testing services at our client facilities. Training, documentation, full design file transfer are among tech transfer services we provide. We often send engineers to our client facilities for final testing and deployment.
